You will be traveling on an independent basis and will join scheduled day tours with a qualified local driver / guide in Sydney, Ayers Rock and Cairns.
Travel in first class comfort aboard the legendary Ghan Train.
Airport transfers will be provided on Day 3 in Sydney & Day 15 in Cairns, only for passengers who have booked their flights on a Trafalgar recommended airline and advised Trafalgar of their flight details

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY;

Day 1 & 2 - Depart USA
Fly over the international date line on your way to Sydney, Australia.

Day 3 - Arrive Sydney (3 nights)
On arrival at Sydney Airport you'll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 - Sydney sightseeing
Today's morning sightseeing tour will highlight views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Enjoy time to stroll along famous Bondi Beach, before returning to the city. Later, we take a luxury cruise on Sydney Harbour which includes a delicious lunch on board. There is an interesting commentary plus spectacular sights as we cruise by Sydney's prestigious suburbs. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Lunch)

Day 5 - Sydney at leisure
A full day at leisure in this exciting city. Why not take an excursion to the famous Blue Mountains and see some of Australia's native wildlife at Featherdale Wildlife Park? Or you may wish to taste some Australian wines in the Hunter Valley. (Buffet Breakfast)

DAY 6 Sydney – Adelaide
Transfer to Sydney Airport for your flight to Adelaide. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)

DAY 7 Adelaide – The Ghan
This morning transfer to Keswick Station where you board The Legendary Ghan train and travel in first class comfort in a private sleeping berth on the journey through the outback to Alice Springs. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

DAY 8 The Ghan – Alice Springs (3 nights)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board The Ghan before you arrive in Alice Springs for our three-night stay. After disembarking you'll be met at the station and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this unique outback town including views from Anzac Hill Lookout. (Buffet Breakfast)

DAY 9 Aboriginal Culture & Alice Springs Desert Park
This morning you will be greeted by your local Aboriginal Guide, who will introduce you to the culture, laws and customs of the Arrente People. This will be followed by a visit to the renowned Desert Park, where your guide will take you through the Nocturnal House. You will also enjoy a demonstration at the Nature Theatre as well as having some free time to explore the Park at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)

DAY 10 West MacDonnell Ranges & Gorges
This morning after breakfast, our day begins with a tour of the West MacDonnell Ranges. We’ll stop at Simpsons Gap with its lovely red river gum scenery. Continue on to magical Angkerle (Standley Chasm).We’ll walk into the Chasm along the stony watercourse lined with cycads, ghost gums, acacias and cypress pines. Then we will travel to Ellery Creek Big Hole before arriving at Ormiston Gorge. We travel on to Glen Helen Gorge, a semi permanent waterhole, for lunch. Depending on the time of year, a swim may be possible at one of the waterholes. Nearby is Mt Sonder, which was the subject of many paintings by the famed Aboriginal artist, Albert Namatjira. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)

Day 11 - Alice Springs - Ayers Rock
Travel through the ‘Red Centre’ from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort, stopping en route at a camel farm. Later we visit the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). On arrival at the base of Walpa Gorge we spend some time exploring the area and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. In the late afternoon we travel to the Ayers Rock sunset viewing area. Witness and photograph the striking color changes of Ayers Rock while enjoying a glass of wine. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 12 - Ayers Rock - Cairns
Today it's an early start as we head out to view sunrise at Uluru (Ayers Rock). Here, there's also time to climb to the top of 'the Rock' and enjoy a tour of the base. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before boarding your afternoon flight to Cairns. On arrival at Cairns Airport you'll be transferred to your hotel where you'll spend the next three relaxing nights. After check-in the remainder of your day is at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 13 & 14 - Cairns at leisure
Enjoy two full days at leisure in this tropical city. During your stay, why not take an unforgettable cruise to the Great Barrier Reef or an excursion through the rainforest on the Skyrail Cableway to Kuranda? Or you may wish to take an excursion to Cape Tribulation and the spectacular rainforests of the Daintree National Park. (Buffet Breakfast, Buffet Breakfast)

Day 15 - Cairns - USA

This morning after breakfast, there's time to bid farewell to this fascinating country as you are transferred to Cairns Airport for your flight home. (Buffet Breakfast)
