Deluxe Hotel Accommodations – price includes
all hotel accommodations with private baths. Although the quality of
accommodations may differ from place to place, this standard remains
uncompromised. Two-bedded rooms are reserved in most hotels. Triples are
two-bedded rooms plus a rollaway cot and are not recommended for comfort.
Tour Director – Each tour is conducted by a Director who remains with the
group throughout the duration of the tour. Your director is a professional,
fully-trained.
Meals – Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes
are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.
Gratuities Included – All appropriate gratuities for bellmen, doormen,
dining room servers, drivers and local guides are included.
No Options Sold – price includes special dinners, entertainment, sightseeing
and most activities. Directors sometimes assist with information on
free-time activities, based on honest opinion and guidance, but will not
sell you anything. This means better value and a more relaxed, pleasant

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY: |
Day 1: Melbourne by
boat and historic tram
tour begins at Melbourne Airport an hour after the arrival of Tauck-selected
flights. Travel directly from the
airport to the center of Melbourne for a sightseeing tour that includes a
cruise on the Yarra River. Board a vintage tram-restaurant for a tour of
city landmarks while enjoying a welcome dinner featuring regional cuisine.

Day 2: Melbourne’s charm
You’ll see many highlights on a sightseeing tour of the city, including the
High Victorian architecture of Parliament House, the beautiful Royal Botanic
Gardens and the ANZAC War Memorial – the Shrine of Remembrance. The rest of
the day is free to explore as you please. Visit the museums, check out the
trendy restaurants, or relax and read a book in the beautiful parks and

Day 3 All about Alice
Fly to Alice Springs in the heart of the Red Centre. Visit the telegraph
station, and see numerous Central Australian animal and plant species at
Alice Springs Desert Park. Attend a barbecue dinner under a starry sky,
where you dine on bush tucker (indigenous Australian food) and are
entertained by storytelling. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Ballooning at dawn & Outback adventure at Uluru
On an included hot air balloon adventure, drift peacefully over the red
desert landscape to see wildlife stirring at dawn – a champagne breakfast
awaits upon your arrival back on land. Fly to Uluru (Ayers Rock), a massive
monolith sacred to the Aboriginal people. Witness the sunset spectacle when
the Rock changes color from pink to deep red, intertwining with the red

Day 5: Off to Far North Queensland
Your Australia tour continues with a flight north from the red desert to the
tropical rainforests of Queensland. Your resort is located in the oldest

Day 6: Explore the Great Barrier Reef
Learn about the underwater realm from a marine biologist aboard a catamaran
cruise on Quicksilver to the Great
Barrier Reef, a highlight of your Australia tour. Marvel at the colors and
beauty of the coral and fish while swimming, snorkeling, or riding on a
semi-submersible watercraft that features enormous viewing windows.

Day 7: Cultural traditions and a look at crocodiles
Say g'day to some of Australia's most famous residents on a visit to a
crocodile farm, where you'll learn everything you've always wanted to know -
and then some - about the croc. After a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal
Cultural Park to learn about the unique traditions, arts and crafts of the
rainforest people of tropical North Queensland, travel to the beautiful city

Day 8: Scenes of Sydney, land and sea
Fly to Sydney and take a city sightseeing tour where you'll see
architectural gems and famed beaches. Finish the day with a cocktail cruise
on Sydney Harbour, for a totally different look at Sydney from the water,

Day 9: Opera house and zoo - a
perfect day
Visit the Sydney Opera House and go "behind the sails" of one of the
world's most beloved architectural masterpieces. Next up – a change of pace

natural habitats. Rest of the day is free to explore and dine as you please.

Day 10: An entire day to do what you like to do in
Sydney
Today is a day that's set aside to do whatever interests you most -
Sydney's got it all. From museums to shopping, Aboriginal art to dining,

Day 11: New Zealand bound
Fly across the Tasman Sea. Upon arrival in New Zealand, travel to Auckland,
the largest city. The spectacular waterfront and profusion of sailboats give
Auckland its nickname, "City of Sails. " (B, D)

Day 12: Adventures in Auckland
A visit to Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World gives you a close-up look at
what lies beneath the waters off New Zealand's coast. See extensive
collections of Maori and Polynesian artifacts, as well as natural history
exhibits at the Auckland War Memorial Museum - and witness age-old Maori
song and dance at a presentation. The rest of the day is free for you to

Day 13: Sheep and farming and thermal geysers
While touring the heart of the North Island, have lunch at Longlands Farm,
combination working farm and country garden. Next up is a visit to the
Agrodome, a great way to learn about one of New Zealand's most important
industries, sheep farming. See bubbling mud pools and geysers at
Whakarewarewa Thermal Village in Rotorua, as well as Maori crafts and

Day 14: Glaciers and Mount Cook
Fly to the South Island's Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Opt to take a
dramatic helicopter flightseeing excursion (at additional cost and providing

Day 15: Cruising Milford Sound
No New Zealand travel itinerary would be complete without visiting Fiordland
National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fly to Te Anau, then cruise
Milford Sound, an inlet carved by glaciers with sheer rock walls rising

Day 16: The Gold Rush and a gondola
Visit Arrowtown, an 1860s gold mining town. Arrive in Queenstown, in New
Zealand's premier resort area. It lies along the shores of Lake Wakatipu,
beneath the sawtooth peaks of The Remarkables mountain range. Take a gondola
to the top of one of the more famous peaks for a "remarkable" view of the

Day 17: Shoot the rapids
Take a thrilling high-speed jet boat ride down a glacier-fed river through
the narrow, rocky gorges of the Shotover River Canyon. Explore beautiful

Day 18: Explore Christchurch
Fly to Christchurch, where you'll think you've landed in England due to the

Spend the day any way you choose - from diverse museums to the Botanic
Gardens, harbor cruises, train journeys, wildlife centers - Christchurch is
