DAY TO DAY ITINERARY: |
Day 1. Sydney
On arrival in the sparkling harbor-side city of Sydney, you will be welcomed
by your friendly APT representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2. Sydney Harbour Cruise,
City Sights
Experience the charm and style of Sydney from a luxurious catamaran. Enjoy a
luncheon cruise on the beautiful harbor, taking in views of the famous
Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. This afternoon, join a sightseeing
tour of the city. See all the highlights as you pass through the historic
Rocks area, see the colorful Botanic Gardens and stroll along famous Bondi
Beach. Tour through Kings Cross and Darling Harbour before enjoying free
time this evening to sample the local cuisine for yourself. (L) |
Day 3. Blue Mountains, Koalas
Today enjoy a full day tour to the spectacular Blue Mountains National Park.
This rugged and beautiful region forms part of the Great Dividing Range,
dividing the coastal cities from the vast Australian Outback. Start the
morning with a visit to a wildlife park to encounter koalas, kangaroos and a
host of other native Australian wildlife. As your luxury coach climbs into
the mountains, pass through delightful townships nestled amid majestic
bushland. View the Three Sisters rock formation, take in the fabulous
scenery from Govett's Leap lookout and enjoy a relaxing river cruise by some
beautiful waterfront properties. |
Day 4. At Leisure in Sydney,
Melbourne
Enjoy a free morning in Sydney to shop, explore or relax before traveling to
the airport for your mid-afternoon flight to the 'Garden City' of Melbourne
(airfare not included). After being welcomed on arrival, you will be
transferred to your hotel.

Day 5. Melbourne City Sights
This morning join a sightseeing tour of Melbourne. Discover the appeal of
this cosmopolitan city as you take in sights such as the lovely Botanic
Gardens, busy Victoria Markets and the intricate iron-laced terraces of
Carlton. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps wander some of
the city's tree-lined streets, exploring the fabulous shopping districts and
stopping in on some of Melbourne's famed restaurants. |
Day 6. Alice Springs, School
of the Air
Rise early to catch your flight to Alice Springs, arriving before 12.00 p.m.
(airfare not included). Welcomed on your arrival, you will be transferred to
your hotel. Later this afternoon, enjoy a town tour of Alice Springs.
Situated close to the very center of the vast Australian continent, 'The
Alice' is the country's best known Outback town. Visit the School of the Air
and Royal Flying Doctor Service, two uniquely Australian organizations that
provide education and medical care to people in the remote areas of Central
Australia. See the historic Telegraph Station and take in panoramic views of
the township and West MacDonnell Ranges from atop Anzac Hill. Stay: Alice

Day 7. Camel Farm, Kata Tjuta
(Olgas), Sunset Drinks at Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Departing Alice Springs we travel south along the Stuart Highway. Stop at
the Outback Camel Farm before continuing west to the 36 rocky domes of Kata
Tjuta (Olgas). Take a walk into Olga Gorge and marvel at the immensity of
these ancient formations. Early evening, journey to Sunset Strip to view the
famed Australian icon of Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset. Enjoy a glass of wine
while watching the vibrant color changes over this sacred rock.

Day 8. Sunrise at Uluru (Ayers
Rock), Climb or Base Tour, Cultural Centre
This morning, witness a spectacular sunrise over Uluru (Ayers Rock). Take up
the opportunity to climb the mighty monolith or walk around its base,
viewing rock art and caves. Learn about the geology and flora of the region
on the Mala Walk and visit the Cultural Centre. The remainder of the day is
at your leisure to explore. This evening you can join the 'Sounds of
Silence' desert dinner, a truly magical Red Centre experience. Additional

Day 9. Cairns
Enjoy the morning at your leisure before transferring to the airport for
your flight to Cairns (airfare not included). Arriving in this tropical
city, you will be welcomed by an APT representative and driven to your
hotel. After time to settle in, discover this region for yourself with a
free afternoon to explore.

Day 10. Great Barrier Reef
Quicksilver Cruise
Board the luxury Quicksilver catamaran and cruise the World Heritage-listed
Great Barrier Reef for a day. Cruise north to beautiful Port Douglas then
head out to magnificent Agincourt Reef, enjoying a buffet lunch on board.
Swim and snorkel with the tropical marine life, board the semi-sub for an
adventure through coral gardens or see the fish feeding from the underwater
observatory. On return, cruise back to Port Douglas, then it's a short drive
to Cairns. (L) |
Day 11. Skyrail, Pamagirri
Dancers
Ride the acclaimed Skyrail Cableway and glide over World Heritage rain
forest. There are also two opportunities to step off the gondola and explore
the lush environment on foot, including a ranger-guided boardwalk tour.
Visit Rainforestation to see a traditional performance by the Pamagirri
Aboriginal Dancers and visit the wildlife enclosure to see a koala. Spend
time wandering the Kuranda village before boarding the scenic Kuranda Train.
Enjoy the fabulous views as this steam train winds its way down the mountain
range back to Cairns. |
