DAY 3 - Arrive in Sydney, Australia
Arrive in Sydney, Australia. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your Sydney hotel where you'll spend 3-nights. The balance of the day is at leisure.
DAY 4 - Sydney
A free morning to begin exploring this vibrant city. Then board a luncheon cruise on beautiful Sydney Harbour, seeing the Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison and more. Afterwards, take a guided tour of the world famous Sydney Opera House. The balance of the day is free. (L)
DAY 5 - Sydney
A day at leisure. Perhaps join an optional tour to the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, or one of the many other choices available
DAY 6 - Sydney / Ayers Rock
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Australia’s Red Center,Ayers Rock. On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm, airfare not included). Watch sunset at Uluru followed by a barbecue dinner with sparkling wine.
DAY 7 - Ayers Rock/Kata Tjuta
Rise early to view sunrise and tour the base. Or join the Uluru Sunrise and Cultural Walk tour. Visit the Mutitjulu Waterhole and Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and learn more about Anangu people. Travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and walk to the Valley of the Winds with your guide. Then take in a outback sunset with a complimentary glass of wine.
DAY 8 - Ayers Rock/Kings Canyon/Alice Springs
Travel to Kings Canyon. Climb to the rim for views of Watarrka National Park, or explore the canyon floor, an easier walk. Return to Ayers Rock arriving at 4.30pm or travel on to Alice Springs, arriving at 6.30pm (times approximate).
DAY 9 - Alice Springs/ Cairns area
You'll be transferred to the airport and board your flight to Cairns.You'll spend 3-nights in Cairns. You can choose to stay in Palm Cove, a , ½hr drive north, which is a quaint beachside village or Port Douglas, which is situated 1hr north and is set among the rainforest forest. Cairns has a lot of activities (such as shopping, restaurants, casinos, however its not the nicest of cities. It also doesn’t have a beach as it sits on a lagoon. You can divide your stay between two areas.
DAY 10 - Great Barrier Reef cruise
Board a luxury catamaran bound for the Outer Barrier Reef. Enjoy your day with rides in the semi-submersible, guided snorkeling tours, swimming, sunbathing or just relaxing. As your catamaran sets sail for the journey back to Cairns, relax and enjoy live music on the open deck. (L)
DAY 11 - Cairns
A full day at leisure. Optional excursions include the Kuranda rainforest and Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, river rafting, kayaking, a rainforest walk, or perhaps an outing to spot crocodiles.
DAY 12 - Depart Cairns
The morning is at leisure prior to your early flight to the USA. |
