DAY 2, Vienna
We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Your tour to Eastern Europe starts today. Meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby this evening, before enjoying a welcome dinner. AM. Stay at the Renaissance Hotel Vienna. (D)
DAY 3, Vienna sightseeing tour
A morning Vienna sightseeing tour features the Hofburg, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. We also view the Belvedere Palace, Prater amusement park, the UN building, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other vivid reminders of the city’s imperial history. Your afternoon is at leisure. (B)
DAY 4, Vienna to Budapest, Hungary
After breakfast, we will enjoy views of the Austrian and Hungarian countrysides, as we drive to Budapest. Stay at the Budapest Radisson Blu Hotel. (B,D)
DAY 5, Budapest sightseeing tour
Situated on opposite banks of the Danube, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by a series of graceful bridges. Our morning sightseeing tour includes all the main attractions: the Parliament, the Royal Palace, the Castle Hill area, Fisherman’s Bastion, Coronation Church, Hero’s Square and Gellert Hill. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)
DAY 6, Budapest to Krakow, Poland
The road to Krakow winds through the lovely hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras and onto the great plains of Poland. A relaxing dinner in Krakow is planned this evening. Stay at the Krakow Holiday Inn. (B,D)
DAY 7, Krakow sightseeing tour
Wawel Hill, St. Mary’s Church, the Renaissance Cloth Hall and other historic landmarks are included on our morning city sightseeing tour. The afternoon is free for strolling about the city. (B)
DAY 8, Krakow to Czestochowa to Warsaw
Captivating scenery unfolds before us on our drive to Warsaw via Czestochowa, Poland’s pilgrimage center known for the blackened picture of St. Mary, popularly called the "Black Madonna”. There is time for an optional side trip to one of the most somber memories of our past, the concentration camp at Auschwitz. Stay at the Warsaw Holiday Inn. (B,D)
DAY 9, Warsaw sightseeing tour
Take a sightseeing tour encompassing the Chopin Monument, the Warsaw Ghetto, Lazienki Park and other landmarks. Use the balance of the day for shopping or attend an optional late afternoon Chopin concert. (B)
DAY 10, Warsaw to Poznan to Berlin, Germany
On the way to Berlin, there is a stop in Poznan for sightseeing. We then drive to Berlin, today’s final destination. Stay at the Abba or Maritime Pro Arte Hotels.(B,D)
DAY 11, Berlin sightseeing tour
Our morning sightseeing tour features the Reichstag, the Renaissance-style building that once housed Germany’s Parliament, and lovely Schloss Charlottenburg. The tour continues to other famous sights, such as the Opera, the Schiller Theater and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The balance of the day is free. (B)
DAY 12, Berlin to Dresden to Prague, Czech Republic
In the morning, we drive to Dresden, a beautiful Baroque city, often hailed as the "Florence of the North”. Upon arrival, we have a sightseeing tour, including the Zwinger Palace, the Semper Opera House and other important, historic sites. Afterwards, we continue our journey to Prague, one of the most attractive cities in Central Europe. Stay at the Diplomat Hotel (B,D)
DAY 13, Prague sightseeing tour
A morning sightseeing tour of this historic capital takes us across the striking Charles Bridge into the old quarter of Prague, where we view the Jewish Ghetto. The highlight of our city tour is famous Hradcany Castle. (B)
DAY 14, Prague to Home
